چکیده

Real-time control of the endeffector of a humanoid robot in external coordinates requires computationally efficient solutions of the inverse kinematics problem. In this context, this paper investigates methods of resolved motion rate control (RMRC) that employ optimization criteria to resolve kinematic redundancies. In particular we focus on two established techniques, the pseudo inverse with explicit optimization and the extended Jacobian method. We prove that the extended Jacobian method includes pseudo-inverse methods as a special solution. In terms of computational complexity, however, pseudo-inverse and extended Jacobian differ significantly in favor of pseudo-inverse methods. Employing numerical estimation techniques, we introduce a computationally efficient version of the extended Jacobian with performance comparable to the original version. Our results are illustrated in simulation studies with a multiple degree-of-freedom robot, and were tested on a 30 degree-of-freedom humanoid robot.

A Low Friction Demanding Approach in Gait Planning for Humanoid Robots During 3D Manoeuvres

This paper proposes a gait planning approach to reduce the required friction for a biped robot walking on various surfaces. To this end, a humanoid robot with 18 DOF is considered to develop a dynamics model for studying various 3D manoeuvres. Then, feasible trajectories are developed to alleviate the fluctuations on the upper body to resemble human-like walking. In order to generate feasible w...

Inverse Kinematics for Humanoid Robots Using Artificial Neural Networks

The area of inverse kinematics of robots, mainly manipulators, has been widely researched, and several solutions exist. The solutions provided by analytical methods are specific to a particular robot configuration and are not applicable to other robots. Apart from this drawback, legged robots are inherently redundant because they need to have real humanoid configurations. This degree of redunda...

Statistical Learning for Humanoid Robots

The complexity of the kinematic and dynamic structure of humanoid robots make conventional analytical approaches to control increasingly unsuitable for such systems. Learning techniques offer a possible way to aid controller design if insufficient analytical knowledge is available, and learning approaches seem mandatory when humanoid systems are supposed to become completely autonomous. While r...

Human-like motion of a humanoid robot arm based on a closed-form solution of the inverse kinematics problem

Humanoid robotics is a new challenging field. To cooperate with human beings, humanoid robots not only have to feature human-like form and structure but, more importantly, they must possess human-like characteristics regarding motion, communication and intelligence. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for solving the inverse kinematics problem associated with the redundant robot arm of the h...

An Inverse Optimal Control Approach for the Transfer of Human Walking Motions in Constrained Environment to Humanoid Robots

In this paper we present an inverse optimal control based transfer of motions from human experiments to humanoid robots and apply it to walking in constrained environments. To this end we introduce a 3D template model, which describes motion on the basis of center of mass trajectory, foot trajectories, upper body orientation and phase duration. Despite of its abstract architecture with prismati...

Enabling real-time full-body imitation: a natural way of m-ansferring human movement to humanoids

We seek intuitive, e cient ways to create and direct human-like behaviors for humanoid robots. Here we present a method to enable humanoid robots to acquire movements by imitation. The robot uses 3D vision to perceive the movements of a human teacher, and then estimates the teacher's body postures using a fast full-body inverse kinematics method that incorporates a kinematic model of the teache...
